Mesopotamia

By the end of the week we will have started our study of ancient river civilizations. We start with Mesopotamia, the area between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, also known as the Fertile Crescent. From there we will travel to ancient Egypt (always a favorite with the students) and study life along the Nile River. Then we are wisked off to the Indus River Valley to learn the ways of India, and last but not least, we learn about Chinese culture and the Yangtze River. Why do you think ancient people would build civilizations around large rivers? Be sure to check out the links list to find great information about these cultures as we study them.
