Our reading classes participated in a book pass last Monday in an effort to expose them to some of the many interesting books we have in our school library. The book pass was also the kickoff to our Reading Roosters project. Our Reading Roosters will receive an ice cream sundae party with the completion of 100 books read (50 from each class). To get the kids started, we dedicated the entire week to silent reading. Please encourage your student to read at home too.
Reading Counts Reminder: The Reading Counts program is a part of the student's reading grade. Sixth grade students are required to have 15 points by October 18. The students are also required to complete a book report by that date. As of the date of this posting, I only have a four students who have points. So, students, if you're not reading, you'd better start!!!
