To wrap up (mind the pun) our Egyptian unit, we are trying something new this year - Chicken Mummies!!! This is a lesson that is widely circulated online, and this year I have such a great group of sixth grade students that I finally worked up the courage to try it. We are mummifying chickens (from the Walmart meat department)in salt and storage bags.
We are in desperate need of salt. The mummifying process takes roughly six weeks. We will have four chickens drying so we have to change out the salt often. If you can spare some containers of salt, it would by greatly appreciated.
