Chicken Mummies Day 3

Today our class is rushing around the room to see what the update on the chickens is. I heard that the chicken was pretty nasty and smelly. I think it smells like sour milk. That's kind of bad. I not that into it, but I mean it's the class project and it's worth a good grade so.......you got to work or no grade, but back to the chicken. Its weight is 3 and a half pounds, and the width is 13 and 1/10th. That's larger then it was last time. We are also working on canopic jars and the heads that go on top of the jars.

*Mrs. Bunting's note: It's a challenge to correctly weigh and measure the smelly chickens.

Day 2 Chicken Mummies

Today we're making canopic jars. We'll sculpt heads for them. Then we'll sculpt organs for them. In real Egypt they took all the organs out except the heart. They believed that if your heart is weighed good then you could go on to the afterlife. Then after wraping the body up, you put it in a sarcophagus. Ruler people had gold tops.

Day one on chicken mummies

We all had a blast, but some say the chicken felt weird. To me, I don't like touching store bought chicken. The salt was hard to stir with four things of salt and eight ounces of baking soda. Doing the chicken mummies really isn't so bad after all. There are some things I hate, but it's okay.
